Bracing and Orthoses

At White Sands Integrative Medical in Fort Walton Beach, FL, our staff and facility are DME (durable medical equipment) certified with Medicare as suppliers of braces and orthoses. Sometimes injuries, whether acute or chronic, may require added support to prevent further injury or to help reduce muscle spasms in the low back. Knee braces may be utilized following a trauma or sports injury to stabilize through the joint, keep the joint functioning in the normal range of motion and allow the knee injury to heal with minimal complications. Other knee braces that we prescribe may be utilized to off-load a degenerative knee with moderate to severe osteoarthritis. Other bracing and supports may be utilized following a motor vehicle accident such as a cervical (neck) brace or a lumbar brace to help the patient through their acute phase of care with muscle spasms and injured muscle tissue that feels weak following trauma. Whichever brace we prescribe for your injury, our team will instruct and educate you on the proper use of it and work through our corrective care phase to restore strength and function to get you out of that brace as soon as possible.
